Climate & Geography
Grenada is a volcanic island with a lush mountainous interior and sheltered indented Leeward coastline.
Carriacou and Petite Martinique are drier, low-lying islands with shrubland.
The highest point is Mt St Catherine, rising to 840m (2,760ft) above sea level.

Airports & Departure Tax
Maurice Bishop International Airport is located on the island’s southernmost peninsular, Point Salines, in St George, with international flights from USA, Canada, UK, Germany and several Caribbean islands.
Lauriston Airport in Carriacou connects the island to Grenada and Union Island (St Vincent & the Grenadines).
Departure tax is included in all airline fares, including small domestic flights to Carriacou.
Immigration
Visas are not required for citizens of the USA, UK, EU, Japan and Caribbean countries, when entering as a visitor.

Visitors to Grenada must present:
1. A valid passport (at least six months)
2. Address and contact details for accommodation
3. Sufficient funds for the duration of their stay
Work visas are issued by the Ministry of Labour.

Grenada offers a fibre optic digital telephone system, with landline, cellular and internet services.

Tax
Most hotels and restaurants add a 10% service charge and 15% VAT. Additional tipping is at your discretion.

Grenada uses 3-pronged plugs (like the UK). You will need an adaptor for European or American style two-pronged plus (for 220/240V). To use 110 volt devices, a transformer is needed.
Potable Water
The tap water in Grenada is collected from rainwater and springs, and is safe for drinking.
Bottled mineral water is widely available at supermarkets and restaurants.
Clothing
Lightweight casual clothing is recommended, with protective layers for sun and insect exposure.
Swimsuits should be covered in towns, public streets and businesses.
Camouflage and public nudity is prohibited.
Drivers Licences
A temporary driver’s licence is required for visitors in possession of an overseas drivers licence.
It is valid for three months and costs EC$60.
Temporary licences can be issued by official car rental agencies, or from South St George Police Station in Grand Anse.
