Grenada Arts Council was founded in 1964 as a volunteer organisation for the promotion, development and education of visual arts in Grenada. GAC works to encourage a national appreciation for visual art and lobbies for institutional support and permanent physical structures to exhibit art. The ultimate aim is for Grenada to benefit culturally, socially and economically from a truly sustainable resource - its artists.
GAC runs a series of pop-up events throughout the year. It also runs the Waving Art Gallery, located on the second floor of Maurice Bishop International Airport, in partnership with the Grenada Airport Authority. It’s a space that allows GAC to promote and showcase Grenada’s local artists to visitors and locals alike.
